"While living in Florida, Daniel began to pick up the skills and work ethic he would later need while working in the family business. He credits his stepfather with teaching him to be fast and efficient, and to focus on quality service.”
"My dad offered a level of service untouched by any other company.” Daniel learned from his father that attention to detail and special attention to the small customer were the way to succeed in business.”
"Daniel’s father was perhaps the most instrumental in his success today, both as a man and as a business owner, exerting his influence at this time. Daniel’s father stressed business ownership, saying that “the ultimate happiness is going to be owning your own business and being able to do your own thing.” Furthermore, he said, “Unless you’re dying, you’re going to work.”
Daniel CalverleyDaniel Calverley was born in Detroit, Michigan, but moved around quite a lot throughout his childhood and teen years. A successful entrepreneur who credits his success to his family and customers, Daniel owns Calverley Heating and Cooling in Ohio.

Although he was born in Detroit, Daniel moved around a lot. At 5, Daniel moved with his mother to St. Petersburg, Florida. Later, he rotated residences every few years between his grandparents in Minnesota and his mother and stepfather.

Moving didn’t bother him; in fact, it helped him to understand “how the world works faster” than other kids his age might know. In addition, Daniel says those experiences gave him exposure to a lot of different kinds of people, a skill that has been useful in his business experiences.

While living in Florida, Daniel began to pick up the skills and work ethic he would later need while working in the family business. He credits his stepfather with teaching him to be fast and efficient, and to focus on quality service.

After high school, Daniel moved to Michigan to live with his father and began working full time at his dad’s heating and cooling business.
As the fourth generation to go into the heating and cooling business, Daniel quickly learned that his father was well known in the area for his excellence in customer service. “My dad offered a level of service untouched by any other company.” Daniel learned from his father that attention to detail and special attention to the small customer were the way to succeed in business.

Calverley Heating and Cooling, Inc. In 2001, Daniel moved back to Ohio, where he got a job working for AW Heating and Cooling. After working for the company for seven years, Daniel recognized that he had no room for advancement, so he decided to go out on his own, and he obtained his contractor’s license in March 2008.

Daniel’s father was perhaps the most instrumental in his success today, both as a man and as a business owner, exerting his influence at this time. Daniel’s father stressed business ownership, saying that “the ultimate happiness is going to be owning your own business and being able to do your own thing.” Furthermore, he said, “Unless you’re dying, you’re going to work.”

Now, Daniel strives to provide the same excellent customer service that his father provided, and he is genuinely interested in helping his customers save money. Although he has been on his own for only a few months, Daniel practices the philosophy that if he’s honest with his customers, they’ll stay with him for life.
